CLARICE

RARITY

CONCERT VIOLINIST

BA (Hons), MA

GUILDHALL SCHOOL OF MUSIC & DRAMA

ROYAL COLLEGE OF MUSIC

Clarice studied at Millfield school with Clive Hughes under a full scholarship. She won several regional solo competitions and leading her Piano quartet won the International Pro-Coder competition in 2008.

Her debut performance was in 2007 performing  Bruch Violin concerto with the SCO.

Clarice studied at Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the Royal College of Music with various internationally renowned teachers, such as David Takaeno and Madeleine Mitchell.

She focused her early career on performing the works of contemporary classical composers such as John Cage and Boulez. Clarice’s interest in new repertoire has led her to work with some of the most exciting young composers in the UK that work in the Dance, Film and Classical industries.  She finds new reasons to continue learning and enjoys seeking out other cultures and disciplines.

Clarice’s current projects have been inspired by her recent work with Akram Khan in his Final solo performance ‘XENOS’. She currently is a member of the Countess of Wessex string orchestra and a regular freelance musician across the UK.

I credit much of this to Clarice’s calm leadership and evident technical prowess allied to the kind of assured familiarity with the material you rely on from any section leader

What immediately struck me was not only her individual personality which she expressed through the medium of music but genuine and holistic interest in the subject.
